OBJECTIVES

  • To establish the first Institute for Advanced Studies in Optics Applied to Cell Biology, providing access to single- and multiphoton confocal microscopy techniques equipped with FLIM and FCS, as well as SHG, THG, CARS, tip-enhanced microscopy, and Raman microspectroscopy/microscopy, either individually and/or in combination, for the execution of the various subprojects comprising this Institute.

  • To develop an interconnected microscopy system enabling the sharing of pulsed laser sources among different microscopes.

  • To perform simultaneous analyses of multiple cellular parameters using specific configurations of the available methodologies in live cells.

  • To conduct correlated studies integrating optical and photonic microscopy approaches, supported by complementary methodologies.

  • To develop innovations and improve existing processes that are part of this proposal.
