Nicolas Alexandre de Oliveira

He is an undergraduate student simultaneously enrolled in the Teaching Degree (Licensure) and Bachelor’s programs in Biological Sciences at UNICAMP (since 2021). He completed a Pre-University Preparatory Program focused on Biological Sciences at Instituto EMBRAER (2018–2020). His academic interests include Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, and Morphofunctional Biology. He participated for three years in the Teaching Support Program (PAD), assisting in Metabolism and Cell Biology I and II courses. He conducted an Undergraduate Research project funded by CNPq (2023–2024) entitled “What are the differences in miRNA expression in different subregions of the rat hippocampus?” under the supervision of Prof. André Schwambach Vieira, presenting this work at SBBC and the UNICAMP Undergraduate Research Congress. Currently, he conducts research at the Laboratory of Extracellular Matrix and Gene Expression Regulation at UNICAMP, using single-cell sequencing techniques in mice under the supervision of Prof. Hernandes F. Carvalho. He has experience in Molecular Biology techniques such as PCR, RNA sequencing, and bioinformatics tools including FASTQC, Reaper, Bowtie2, miRDeep2, as well as R and DESeq2. His main goal is to pursue an academic career focused on Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology, particularly RNA biology.
