Light Sheet Workshop – 2015

  • The workshop on the new Light Sheet microscopy technology, organized by INFABiC and Zeiss Brazil, included students and professors from major universities in the State of São Paulo. Light Sheet microscopy is highly recommended for the analysis of thick samples or even whole organisms. The Zeiss Lightsheet Z.1 system was available at INFABiC from April 15 to 24, 2015.

INFABiC and INCT-Sangue Welcome Bruce Alberts at Unicamp

  • INFABiC and INCT-Sangue welcomed Bruce Alberts, author of The Cell and former Editor-in-Chief of Science, at the Unicamp Hemocenter on August 2, 2012. During the visit, Alberts toured the Hemocenter laboratories and was introduced to projects conducted within the INCT programs.

  • INFABiC and INCT-Sangue participated in the 10th International Congress on Cell Biology and the 16th Congress of the Brazilian Society for Cell Biology, held July 25–28, 2012, at RioCentro – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Researchers and students visited the INCT booth, which aimed to disseminate INCT research activities, particularly knowledge transfer initiatives with public elementary school students.

Educate to Transform Program

  • Promoted by the National Institutes of Science and Technology at Unicamp: INFABiC, FOTONICOM, and INCT-Sangue.
  • Every month, elementary school students from public schools in Campinas visit the Unicamp campus. During the visit, students have the opportunity to explore the laboratories of IFGW, the Institute of Biology (IB), the School of Medical Sciences (FCM), and the Hemocenter.
