Carlos Lenz Cesar, Ph.D

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Federal University of Ceará (1977), a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (1979), and a Ph.D. from the University of Campinas (1985). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). He has extensive experience in Physics, with emphasis on Condensed Matter Physics, working mainly in the fields of photonics and biophotonics. His work in biophotonics techniques includes optical tweezers, multiphoton confocal microscopy, CARS microscopy, SHG/THG microscopy, FLIM microscopy, and nanotechnology through the production of quantum dots for fluorescent labeling. His research in photonics materials and techniques includes nonlinear optical measurements and femtosecond time-resolved spectroscopy, optical fibers including photonic crystal fibers, and glasses doped with semiconductor quantum dots and rare-earth elements.
